Cape Cod Gateway Airport Launches Noise Abatement Initiatives

PlaneNoise Reporting Platform Implemented
HYANNIS, MASS. – Cape Cod Gateway Airport has introduced several new initiatives to continue its commitment to address noise concerns from residents in the Town of Barnstable and nearby communities.
In addition to established flight paths and voluntary quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., the airport recently implemented the popular PlaneNoise Complaint Box platform, an easy and convenient way for residents to report concerns. The system also delivers precise data to better assist airport staff in reviewing and responding to reported activity.
Using the PlaneNoise platform, reports can be made three ways:
Online: Through the airport’s website, flyhya.com, detailed reports can be filed.
Mobile App: The Complaint Box Mobileä app is available for both iPhone and Android devices.
By Phone: Residents may leave a voicemail on the airport’s dedicated noise disturbance report line by calling 888-422-7416.
Every report that is logged helps shape the ongoing collaboration between the airport, FAA, aircraft operators, and the surrounding community.
To further strengthen the airport’s dedication to addressing noise concerns, Cape Cod Gateway Airport has also hired a noise specialist and will host a community forum on the subject later this year.

Cape Cod Gateway Airport, located on 639 acres in Hyannis, Massachusetts, provides commercial and general aviation services to Boston, New York, the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket and beyond. It is one of 5,000 public use airports across the nation and one of 39 in the state of Massachusetts that is deemed vital to the National Airspace System (NAS) by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
