Cape Cod is known for its beautiful beaches, unique landscapes, and the incredible wildlife that calls the region home. On Saturday, September 12, our community came together at Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary in Barnstable for the 16th Annual Cape Cod Wildlife Festival, celebrating the animals, habitats, and conservation efforts that make our region so special.

Hosted at Mass Audubon’s Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, the free, family friendly festival offered something for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages. Visitors had the opportunity to explore hands-on conservation activities, meet local wildlife organizations and conservation experts, enjoy live animal presentations, and learn more about the species and habitats found throughout Cape Cod.

The festival featured a life-sized inflatable North Atlantic right whale, Great White Shark program activities, live music, food trucks, local treats, raffles, and giveaways. It was a wonderful opportunity for families and community members to connect with nature while learning about the importance of protecting Cape Cod’s wildlife and natural habitats.

As Cape Cod Gateway Airport, we are proud to be part of a community that values the natural environment and the organizations working to preserve it. Events like the Cape Cod Wildlife Festival highlight the incredible resources and experiences available throughout our region and give both residents and visitors a chance to discover more of what makes Cape Cod unique.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s festival a success and to all who came out to learn, explore, and celebrate Cape Cod’s wildlife.

We look forward to seeing how our community continues to support conservation, education, and the natural beauty that surrounds us.
